My future
I would prefer to work in a creative company in Amsterdam. A company that tries to replace normal products or services with environmentally and animal-friendly options. I also think it is very important to be financially independent. So I see myself working four days a week and developing my bag line further. If my BÆRREL is popular i might start my own company.
During my studies at the high school of the arts in Utrecht I discovered that I am really someone who immediately starts making and only sees if it works afterwards. If I have a plan, I literally have to get it out as quickly as possible. This is often useful when I have to work quickly, but it can cause a lot of little mistakes in my design, which I have to correct later. In the past I didn't do any research before I started, but I did learn that at the high school of the arts in Utrecht. It is good to do research beforehand. Precisely so that you avoid getting stuck in a further stage of your project.
I also learned what really matters to me. For me it's not about bringing something new to the market, but mainly about how we can improve the products that are out there. There are so many products in this world that are associated with slavery, animal suffering and environmental pollution. We need to get rid of this as soon as possible. I as a maker want to help the world and not contribute to its destruction. I have found myself as a maker thanks to the high school of the arts. They made me think about how I approach life and what I want to contribute.
